[USPM] Deadly Assassin (US)
#1
Assassin, also known as Deadly Assassin, was an American power metal band. Their sole demo, Metal Massacre, is the band's love letter to Iron Maiden, save for vocalist Tony Santine sounding a little closer to King Diamond or Rob Halford.

Another mighty band whose steel has been forever preserved by Stormspell Records.

I will also echo that this a release worth searching for as the material the band wrote is top drawer. Tony Santine was as stated above a sonic offspring of Rob Halford/King Diamond and main lyric writer. Brian, Joe, and Steve Aguirre were the guitar players and bass player and were self taught and played countless covers honing their talents until they met Tony and drummer Rick Bunce; when they decided to write originals and record a demo.
The recording is very rough as it was recorded on a 4 track cassette recorder in the attic of the Aguirre brothers' parents house. The Metal Knights compilation brought out by Stormspell Records has the Metal Massacre demo plus another demo recording of dubbed in guitar parts of certain tracks from the 1987 demo and two covers recorded around the same time as the MM demo - Metal Thrashing Mad by Anthrax & Unchained Angel by Nasty Savage.
