Your Favorite Guitar Solo?

The perfect guitar solo can REALLY make song I think. There is something almost magical when that moment that the vocalis, bass, and even drums back off and let the lead guitarist do their thing. Let's collaborate and share our favorite guitar solos in this thread! I will start us off:

Death - Without Judgement
2:15

Death - Story To Tell
2:35

Gordian Knot - Rivers
5:20

High on Fire - Baghdad. This is a special song for me because I saw the band perform it right around the time when we invaded Iraq. It doesn't get much more emotive than this for me.

Rainbow - Stargazer. For me it's one of Ritchie's best moments.

Scorpions - Life is Like a River. What can be said about this one? To quote Abbath, "Forget about it."

Always loved the solo in Blue Oyster Cults live version of Astronomy, from the Some Enchanted Evening album. Nothing shredtastic about it, it just really added a lot to the song Imo.

Speaking of Saxon, the last minute of "Princess of the Night" is purely orgasmic. Since first hearing this song in 2008, my opinion hasn't changed one bit. What a jam!

King Diamond's "Black Horsemen" ends on such a genius note. Like that Saxon song that I posted up above, the exit solo by Michael Denner is an instantly memorable relic, and has a dark atmosphere that fades out into a soft-picked clean riff. If this doesn't mesmerize you in the least bit, then something must be wrong with your ears. King Diamond

ACCEPT's Wolf Hoffmann's career as an axeman is a highlight reel; my favourite is from the song Wanna Be Free from Blind Rage; that solo has a heroic mood to it.

Hell yeah! Such a good song too, from a fucking amazing album. If you look at all the guitar solos he has played, definitely a huge highlight reel.

Someone mentioned Dr. Stein by Helloween, that is definitely a classic. Painkiller by Judas Priest, that one is so fucking memorable. I don't even have to hear the song to directly, I can hear it in my mind. Sleep (In the Fire) by W.A.S.P is another that comes to mind. Another Priest classic Beyond The Realms Of Death that solo just hits you and the song isn't really that heavy.

Talking about Maiden (again) WHERE EAGLES DARE has a HOLY SHIT solo; RAF must be proud.

Sonic Prophecy (US) albums are also highlight reels of great solos.

I don't care how mainstream it may be, but the solo starting at 4:57 in Megadeth's "Holy Wars... the Punishment Due" has always been my favorite solo.

Guys, it's probably a good idea to at least weigh in on a few of your picks, instead of just listing them out.

Hoping to see less predictable mentions this time around. Hand

Some of the best guitar I've ever heard on this one, utterly brilliant neoclassical guitar all the way throughout this song and the two larger solos are among my very favorites from any band.

Yeah this one is just hard rock, but I also really enjoy many solos by Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme, super talented dude, here's one where he's at his very best, another favorite of mine.

Saxon - 747 Strangers in the Night: Brilliant song, tasty soloing. Whole thing blends it together, this an underrated song Saxon created.

Riot - Narita: Classic Riot, love the bumps of this whole record. But this instrumental is the "shining" example of why i love Riot. Picked up the LP 3 months ago and have been hooked since!

Grim Reaper - Run for Your Life: Badass GR song, the force is strong on this one. Bowcott is the man, still a great riffmonster. Saw him with Steve Grimmett's band at Ragnarokkr and i still feel that moment.

Running Wild - Black Demon: Best Running Wild song too even if i prefer the "pirate" stuff a lil bit extra haha. Hand

Mercyful Fate - Melissa: This song is spectacular, never heard anythin like this MF song before. Of course Denner/Shermann are the kings of co-lead.

"Destruction - Curse the Gods" I have always loved this solo, it gives the song a very apocalyptic and chaotic atmosphere.

"Cynic - How Could I" This one is very melodic, also it matches perfectly with how the song had been developing and the riff that comes after it.
